As we enter a new month with a New Moon and Mercury Retrograde, we have the astrological energies of Leo and the Sun, along with the planet Saturn and archetype of "Strength" guiding the way. This New Moon offers a bold, brilliant, creative, and courageous vibration that asks us to be more of ourselves, and to do it unapologetically. It is a time to highlight our strengths and follow up with new ways to express these gifts for the greatest and highest good of all. Mercury Retrograde begins the day after the New Moon, and this is a reminder to tie up loose ends. Is there a conversation that needs a follow-up? Do you need to take action in a way that will bring closure to something that has been left open? Is there a question to answer or a relationship to address that will result in a release of energy that has been holding on for some time? These places of open-ended and unresolved issues leave us hanging, and they take up so much energy for no reason except for the fact that we have not taken the steps needed to manifest a resolution. Expression comes in how we carry ourselves, but it more directly comes from our ability to communicate. Whether there is drama, scheduling issues, physical locations, or other types of blocks that have prevented the needed steps of action, this is a time to find ways to close the doors that have been left open in our lives.
The New Moon in Leo is a time to be honest with ourselves, cultivate our inner determination, and lead ourselves toward our dreams. When we take the time to stop and think about what a miracle it is to be alive, we have to also contemplate this one opportunity that each of us has to be ourselves as we are incarnated in this lifetime. We will only be ourselves in this form once, so what are we waiting for? Leo the lion teaches us to roar our individual Truths and take a little time to put ourselves first. The downfall for Leos tend to be stubbornness, arrogance, and egotism, but sometimes a small dose of selfishness is what we need to listen to our own inner voices and take action toward our individual life purposes. We are here as who we are for a reason, as all things that happen do so with intent from a higher perspective. As we flow with this time of renewal, we have a chance to merge with the destiny we were born to live. Even if it is a small step forward, we become closer to our most authentic human expression. Who are we outside of social norms, expectations, or molds that have been premade for us? How can we both feed our souls and give back to a greater and higher purpose of living? The Light is shining strong this time of year, and all we have to do is direct it toward what really matters and makes a positive difference. If we have been taken down by negativity from social media, the news, politics, or any other human material creation, it might be the perfect time to pull away and focus more on creating something out of a place of joy and gratitude. The spotlight is longing for attention, and when we can feel seen for who each of us are, then we can expand into so much greater than we ever imagined we could become.
Neptune and Pluto are both still retrograde, and they are two ends of a dragon that are bringing in a type of rebirth. These two planets are so far away from us, that their influence tends to be a lot more subtle, yet they can create shifts that last much longer as well. These deep energies take us into our subconscious minds and provide deeper insights, unexpected breakthroughs, and stronger clarity around spirituality, creative endeavors, or golden opportunities that we feel we need to act upon. Inner shifts in consciousness result in major shifts in our realities when we approach them with reverence, Love, and an open heart. Slow down, reflect on what is showing up or not showing up in your life, and take time to listen to what is underneath the chatter of the physical world. There are greater messages as well as Light-filled guidance available when we allow for inner reflection to take place.
