Reflecting on the Solar Eclipse, I had an emotional reaction to this phenomena. As it was happening, I found myself tearing up and meditating on both my inner and outer world. There is so much joy and sorrow, blessings and pain, highs and lows... it made me reflect on the blessings of life and the yin and yang we all experience. Aspects of who I am make me proud of my journey and what I have made of it. Other ways I have acted toward others, treated myself, or held myself accountable when I was younger and less experienced in life make me cringe when I look back. Talking to dear friends and listening to clients, it is crystal clear that we all have aspects of who we are that are "in the closet". We are so complex and we have led lives of loss and gain that have molded us to become the people we are today. Sometimes we have to eclipse a part of who we are in order to be who we want to become. This happens because of a need for privacy, isolation, or concealment of information; or it comes out of feelings of shame, fear of failure, or self-preservation. We lock away aspects of who we are or things we have done so that no one will find out the truth. We may not be proud of what we have done or who we have become, or we might be overly sensitive to other people knowing who we really are and the details of our history. "The Closet" is safe and protects us from criticism, judgement, or projections from our surroundings. We cannot be judged and we can't disappoint anyone for things that no one knows about. For some, this is a big part of their deception game. Crucial facts are withheld so that something nefarious can continue to persist. We can't be blamed for what can never be proven, so hiding is the safe way to go for some. Other times we hide parts of who we are out of a need to protect ourselves. People of certain races, sexes, religions, or ethnicities may leave out information on who they are in order to avoid discrimination, hostility, or prejudices. To be accepted, we have adopted strategies of hiding aspects of who we are. It's unfortunate, but in a world where survival of the fittest means keeping some things secret, this behavior has become the norm.

There is so much freedom in letting go of outer perceptions. It is a privilege to be in a place in our lives where we can feel safe to be who we are and not feel a need to hide it from anyone. At the end of the day, we are the only ones we have to answer to. Life is between us and our Creator. Of course there are laws to abide by and rules to follow in order to simply live together in a society, but beyond that it is important to feel confident in being who we are. This is the fertilizer that helps us grow energetically bigger and stronger. It hasn't always been acceptable to be "out" about our true feelings, our lifestyles, and our beliefs. Back in the day, you could get killed for being honest and expressing yourself. In some places around the globe, nothing much has changed. However, in the US, we are growing and becoming a little more tolerant of differences. What is most important is that we don't allow those who are uncomfortable around us to dictate the person we become. In other words, don't let anyone dim the Light that shines in the heart. When our hearts are open and we are expressing the most authentic version of the soul's projection, then nothing can stop us. When we all create from that space, the world Lights up. Bringing the true self to life helps us evolve together in harmony. There will always be duality here in the physical world, but we get to decide how much of ourselves we will allow to grow. This eclipse energy is here for the next few weeks to support the release of the obstacles that shadow our life journey. It is time to be honest with ourselves and let go of that which is truly holding us back. There is no blame, there is no shame, and there is only Love. When we Love and respect ourselves and make choices from that space, whatever challenges that come up from our life adjustments, we will be stronger after we walk through those fires. Be brave and choose life. Nothing and no one should be given the power to interfere with our most pure and authentic expression of truth, and passion for life itself.
