"Just go with the flow"... is it easier said than done? What does that even mean? The "flow" is a current of energy that we ride moment to moment when we get into a project, an activity, or a mental state of focus. Have you ever noticed yourself fully consumed in creativity, either painting, playing music, reading, exercising, meditating, or enjoying something that engages your complete focus, concentration, and involvement of joyful energy? That is when we are in the "flow". For some, this space has become a regular exercise of daily practice. For others, it may feel challenging to find, so it is created until it becomes natural.
Pushing too hard quite the opposite of the flow. It creates a false sense of power. We end up forcing, breaking, controlling, constraining, coercing, and driving things into the ground. On the outside, we may look strong and resilient. However, on the inside we can feel shattered and broken. When we push too hard, we end up getting sick and having to take a pause on our plans due to a compromised immune system.
Cultivating inner power, on the other hand, can lead to a consistent life flow. Inner self-Love power is something that we build from the inside of ourselves, allowing us to listen internally instead of getting distracted by the outer chatter. It means we have healthy boundaries and honor ourselves enough to pursue our greatest dreams. Inner power comes out of magnetism, which is created from integrity, hard work, service, Love, kindness, wisdom, and faith - among many other positive traits. That is true power, and not false power. Pushing too hard is the exact contrast and creates a deep sense of false power. Either way, it is nowhere near "the flow".
Being in the "flow" can also look like a type of lifestyle. Scrolling out and looking at our lives from the outside, we can see where we have flow and where we have stagnancy. When things go our way, we stay on course and continue to move ahead at a balanced pace, doing both what we Love and what we can do to serve the planet and humanity. When things don't go our way, we have the ability to change gears, shift directions, let go of expectations, release attachments, and start over at any point without incurring more pain and suffering. We get to choose how we respond to life, and "the flow" guides us where energy is working and moving for the greatest and highest good. When we are in that life flow, we don't get out of challenges or areas of suffering, but we simply don't allow them to consume us in a negative way or take us out of our life intentions, purpose, and overall meaning either.
In what areas do you feel "the flow" manifesting the most? Where can there be more flow and either less force or less stagnation? If there is a question, we can start by looking at where we have joy, ecstasy, and happiness vs insecurity, self-consciousness, or self-doubt. Where there is flow, we are able to understand our true passions and full emersion. Where there is stagnation, there may be a stand-still, a blockage, or a deadlock. So how can we learn to flow more in our lives? It is important to let go of the past, stop worrying about the future, and stay present in the moment. This takes living more mindfully, and accepting responsibility for our thoughts, words, emotions, attitudes, and actions. With more flexibility, forgiveness, understanding, compassion, and adaptability, the flow starts creating itself naturally. It is being in alignment with the inner world and working with the outer world to find harmony. We can control ourselves and the way we choose to process our living experiences, but we cannot force the outer world to agree with us. When we find that sweet spot of balance between these worlds, and hold our hearts in the Light with the super consciousness, then all things are possible.
May the flow of life be with us all now and always!
