Setting The Stage For Pregnancy
A Question Commonly Asked...
Why would I want to hire a Birth Doula?
"A doula acts as an advocate for the mother, encouraging and helping her fulfill specific desires she might have for her birth. The goal of a doula is to help the mother experience a positive and safe birth, whether an unmedicated birth or a cesarean."
~ American Pregnancy Association
Whether it be support during this most powerful time of life, to help reduce stress and anxiety during labor, or to help with massage, postures, breathing, or any other needs, a birth doula has been proven to help families have a more positive childbirth experience.
Research has shown that mothers who use a birth doula are less likely to use pain medication, need Pitocin, or have a cesarean birth; however, they are more likely to have a positive birth experience and feel cared for during their most vulnerable moments. Birth doulas are not the replacement of a parent, but a supporting stabilizer for both parents as they navigate through the journey of birth. Birth is a magical ceremony and so unique to every mother. The Love and support of another is part of the surrendering and honoring of this sacred ritual.
