Poem of the Week: Making Good of Heartbreak & Challenge...

Disasters occur out of our control,

Out of the blue, they take their toll.

Shifting realities and changing perspectives,

Affecting individuals and the collective.

They leave their mark of pain and suffering,

Without holding back or even buffering.

When they are done, we are left with dread,

Wrapping what's happened around our heads.

Then humanity's Love shines through,

A beacon of Hope that binds like glue.

Teaching survival and to overcome,

The destruction and pain of the total sum.

Sharing our strength during troubled times,

Paying attention and listening to signs.

Making the best and helping one another,

Seeing the commonalities with each other.

The toughest times create massive stressors,

Like a stone going through heat and pressure.

Refining our lives and helping us grow,

Revealing great Truths that we need to know.

At the end of the day it's up to us to rise,

Not letting this challenge be our demise.

After time, the blessings will be revealed,

When the mind, body, and soul is finally healed.
