Mudra of the Month: Headache & Dizziness Mudra

Mudra means "To Please", and is a way to invoke the unseen forces for health and happiness. You can literally manifest your destiny with the palm of your hands. Mudras are a type of sign language to the angelic realm. Every day, hire the angels of Light and fire the angels of darkness with Mudra Therapy.

The month of May is the 5th month of the year and the number 5 corresponds to the planetary frequency of Mercury. Mercury is the planet of communication. This planetary vibration supports mental intelligence, speaking, reading, writing, and all forms of technology. The breath is the master of the mind, and Love is the ultimate healer of mental imbalances and brain problems. By perceiving our lives through the eyes of Love, we are able to transmute our challenges into great blessings. One of the common disturbance that most people experience at least once in their lives is a headache. Along with drinking water and maintaining balanced hormones, this hand posture can support getting rid of a headache, dizziness, or feeling ungrounded.

The headache mudra involves "Golden Triangle", bringing the index finger, middle finger, and thumb together, which activates the energies of Jupiter for the large intestine, Saturn for the heart protector, and Mars for the lungs to manifest health and wellness. When we bring the ring finger (the Sun finger) down to the base of the palm, we are decreasing the weight of the Earth element. This is grounding and helps to lighten any heaviness, giving energy to the spaces where we feel tired or worn out. Stress is one of the leading causes of headaches and dizziness. Finally, the pinky (Mercury) is extended to help support the heart in working strong and effectively. Together, this hand posture supports relief from pain on the mental plane.

How long do I hold a Mudra for? One moment to several minutes is standard timing for holding a Mudra. Mudras work based on one's level of consciousness. The higher the consciousness, the less one needs. All mudras are suggested to be held for 1-3 minutes and up to 11-120 minutes with a mantra meditation or breath work. Listen to your intuition and feel your mind, heart, and body while you are practicing Mudras. You will learn for yourself what is best for you. Smile, relax, and receive healing from your own hands.

How To Perform The Headache Mudra:

1. Straighten the spine in a comfortable posture sitting, standing, or laying down.

2. Rub your hands together vigorously.

3. Bring the index finger, middle finger, and thumb together on both hands.

4. Fold the ring finger down to the base of the palm on both hands.

5. Extend the pinky up straight on both hands.

6. Relax your shoulders and elongate the spine, allowing the chest to rise and the chin to gently relax in and up. Close the eyes and focus at the brow (3rd eye) point.

7. Smile, breathe long deep breaths, chant Triple Mantra, RaMaDaSa, or practice Three Part Breath (See Below).

3-Part Breath (Optional):

Inhale slowly into the belly, rib cage, and upper chest for a count of 20. Hold the breath (unless you are pregnant) and squeeze the rectum for a count of 20. Exhale from the chest, rib cage, and belly, drawing the navel in toward the spine for a count of 20. Repeat the breath for a total of 3 minutes. SMILE!
