This entire month of February, we will focus on lymphatic health and essence protocols that we have used that have made a difference in our lives and the lives of others. This week, we look at essences that support edema, water retention, and bloating. Three of our favorites to recommend are Sweet Orange, Carrot Seed, and Green Mandarin.
Sweet Orange is rich in Vitamin C and a variety of minerals that support health and wellness. She is effective to use for water retention and in stimulating the Lymphatic System. Sweet Orange addresses depression, abuse, and negativity, allowing one to release the toxic waters of emotional imbalance. Carrot Seed, otherwise known as Queen Anne's Lace, has been historically used by Native Americans to treat blood disorders and diabetes, among so many other things. She is a natural liver and kidney aid that helps with edema and bloating. Carrot Seed teaches to trust the voice within, letting go of dependence from the outer world and any need for external validation by strengthening one's inner vision. Green Mandarin has been used for hundreds of years in Chinese Medicine, and is known to help alleviate bloating, swelling, cellulite, and edema by helping the body naturally increase its urine flow. Green Mandarin works emotionally on the inner child, fears, and in strengthening the energy bodies.
It is best to use essences for one month for every year you have had the symptoms that are being treated. So, if you have experienced blood and circulation issues for 2 years, then anoint daily for 2 months for best results. Anoint onto the area of concern, or on the bottoms of the feet for best results. For the average adult weight and height, five to ten drops "neat" on the skin is enough to start anointing 2-3 times a day. We tend to use more drops on our legs and feet when they are swollen with water weight, so use your intuition to decide if more drops are needed for your edema. Always do a test patch on the inner arm to make sure that the essence is not too powerful to anoint "neat". If it brings up a healing response, then use the bottoms of the feet to anoint, and meditate on what is coming up and out emotionally for healing.
