It is the month of August, and we are focusing on the Skeletal System. This system of the body is made up of the internal framework of bones, cartilage, ligaments, and tendons. Without this structure, we wouldn't be able to move and perform the way we do.
This week, we are focusing on healing tendinitis. Tendinitis is the inflammation of a tendon, and tendons are the tissues that connects muscles to bones. They do not get a lot of blood flow, therefore essences that excite circulation are amazing for this issue. On an energetic level, tendinitis manifests out of fear, torn thinking, and feeling agitated over long periods of time. In order to address tendinitis on all levels, we suggest using Wintergreen, Plai, and Rosemary.
Wintergreen is an evergreen shrub used by native peoples for many different ailments and disorders. For tendinitis pain, inflammation, and increased circulation to the tissues, Wintergreen is excellent. She supports the emotional heart in softening, letting go, detaching, and finding ways to Love again. Plai is part of the Ginger family, and offers a chi warming, energy moving, pain and inflammation healing medicine that is wonderful for tendinitis. Plai is a root that warms a cold heart, allowing the soul to rise above challenges and move toward higher dreams. Rosemary is a woody, perennial herb used by ancient civilizations in rituals to remove darkness. She is wonderful for circulation, pain, and tendinitis. Energetically, Rosemary supports our will to grow from our past, dream our highest dream, and release deep seated anger and negativity. Together, the three of these essences work beautifully to help the body heal from tendinitis.
It is best to use essences for one month for every year you have had the symptoms that are being treated. In general, for the average adult weight and height, five to ten drops "neat" on the skin is enough to start anointing each essence 2-3 times a day. Always do a test patch on the inner arm to make sure that the essences are not too powerful to anoint "neat" on your skin. If they bring up a healing response, then use the bottoms of the feet to anoint, and meditate on what is coming up and out emotionally for healing. Anoint onto the skin over the tendon you are addressing, so that the plant essences can directly affect the area. These plants work well together, and can help the healing process greatly. All essences are safe to ingest in small amounts (3-5 drops in an ounce of water is a good start). Use your intuition to guide the way, and remember that less is always more in most cases, and the body knows what's best - so always listen to it.
