It is the month of August, and we are focusing on the Skeletal System. This system of the body is made up of the internal framework of bones, cartilage, ligaments, and tendons. Without this structure, we wouldn't be able to move and perform the way we do.
This week, we are focusing on healing osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is a bone dis-ease that manifests when the body loses too much bone or it makes too little bone, or both. The bone can become so weak that it breaks. Energetically, this is representative of feeling that there is no support left in life. We mostly see osteoporosis in the elderly. Most of the elderly population experience the loss of their friends and family, and some feel less supported and more vulnerable. This can also happen during big transitions in life like menopause/manopause. In order to address this dis-ease with plants, we recommend Rosewood Leaf, Scotch Pine, and Helichrysum to support the healing journey.
Rosewood Leaf comes from a tree native to India and Southern Iran. She is used to make musical instruments, skis, boats, and floors because of her durability. Rosewood Leaf is helpful for osteoporosis, and in regenerating and growing bone in the body. The leaves are very helpful in strengthening the bone and decreasing the effects of osteoporosis. They help to regenerate the tissues and support the bones during menopause/manopause as well. Energetically, Rosewood Leaf helps with stress, depression, personal accountability, releasing the ideas of what "could've been", and letting go of the past in order to move forward powerfully in peace.
Scotch Pine is an evergreen coniferous tree that grows old and tall, reaching toward the Light and illuminating the night as a source of fire due to the high content of resin and sap. She helps the bones and joints with pain and arthritic conditions, as well as supporting healthy bones and muscles. As a strong and tall tree, she helps us to stand tall and strong in our own bones, helping to alleviate inflammation, pain, and weaknesses. When we feel pulled in too many directions, ungrounded, weak, or feel like we are losing hope, Scotch Pine is a wonderful supporter in Love and compassion. She helps us to change directions in life with grace, let go of the pain of the past, and hold a positive mental attitude filled with Hope.
Finally, Helichrysum is a small, yellow, fragrant flowering plant that is a light-filled healer on all levels. She is known to help accelerate the repair of damaged tissues and nerves. Helichrysum brings healing Light energy to sprains, strains, contractures, and arthritic conditions. She helps from the skin level all the way down to the bone. Energetically, Helichrysum is a higher heart healer, supporting us in having a deeper spiritual understanding, more acceptance and Love, and the ability to see the bigger picture while holding unconditional Love through the ups and downs of life. She is pure Light and Love for the mind-body-spirit connection.
Together, all three essences help the bones to stay strong in order to help bring us stability when it may be harder to stand on our own. It is best to use essences for one month for every year you have had the symptoms that are being treated. In general, for the average adult weight and height, five to ten drops "neat" on the skin is enough to start anointing each essence 2-3 times a day. Always do a test patch on the inner arm to make sure that the essences are not too powerful to anoint "neat" on your skin. If they bring up a healing response, then use the bottoms of the feet to anoint, and meditate on what is coming up and out emotionally for healing. Anoint onto the skin over the area of bone you are addressing, so that the plant essences can directly affect the bone in that specific area. These plants work well together, and can help the healing process greatly. All essences are safe to ingest in small amounts (3-5 drops in an ounce of water is a good start). Use your intuition to guide the way, and remember that less is always more in most cases, and the body knows what's best - so always listen to it.
