Essence Protocol of the Week: The Skeletal System and Broken Bones...

It is the month of August, and we are focusing on the Skeletal System. This system of the body is made up of the internal framework of bones, cartilage, ligaments, and tendons. Without this structure, we wouldn't be able to move and perform the way we do.

This week, we are focusing on healing broken bones. A bone fracture often times manifests when physical force has been exerted on a bone that is stronger than the bone itself. This can happen in various human accidents, or when we are older and our bones are not as dense as they once were. It is most important that we get better blood flow to the area in order for it to heal quicker and more effectively. It is also crucial to help the body with pain, swelling, inflammation, and circulation. Energetically, bone fractures manifest from a feeling of lacking the support we really needed in life. Our favorite essences to address bone breaks are Sweet Birch, True Basil, and Black Pepper.

Sweet Birch is a powerful tree essence that is associated with inner purification, protection, and healing. She is wonderful for inflammation, pain, arthritis, joint issues, soreness, and circulation of the tissues. This amazing tree is both warming and cooling at the same time, allowing more blood flow and stimulation to the bones for quicker healing. Spiritually, Sweet Birch takes one under the surface of the problem in order to discover the deeper meaning. She instills the qualities of inner authority, fearlessness, discipline, and sacrifice.

True Basil is known as the "Herb of Kings", as she is highly revered for her healing properties. True Basil and Sweet Birch act powerfully together to bring circulation, pain relief, and ease to inflammation and swelling. True Basil alone is wonderful as an anti-septic bone and fracture aid that also helps to relieve stress and anxiety along with pain. Energetically, True Basil is great for strength, forgiveness, courage, and healing those lower frequencies that tend to attack our thoughts in order to make us feel less than.

Black Pepper is one of the most historically known medicines for most all ailments. She is full of Vitamin K, which is great for circulation, muscle health, and bone health. Black Pepper also helps the nerves repair and the chi in the body to warm up. This is a wonderful plant medicine to help the bones repair quickly. Her spiritual gift lies in banishing darkness, negativity, blocks, and fears in order to shift into higher energies and expressions of Love.

Together, these three essences support bone healing and repair. It is best to use essences for one month for every year you have had the symptoms that are being treated. In general, for the average adult weight and height, five to ten drops "neat" on the skin is enough to start anointing each essence 2-3 times a day. Always do a test patch on the inner arm to make sure that the essences are not too powerful to anoint "neat" on your skin. If they bring up a healing response, then use the bottoms of the feet to anoint, and meditate on what is coming up and out emotionally for healing. Sweet Birch and True Basil can be both too hot and too cold for some skin types. For this reason, we suggest doing a test patch on the inner arm with one drop to see how the skin reacts. If it is too much stimulation, then stick to anointing Black Pepper to the skin first, followed by Sweet Birch and True Basil, with Black Pepper on the top as a seal. This will help to protect the skin from the hotter essences, while still being able to anoint "neat" to the skin. Anoint onto the skin over the broken bone so that the plant essences can directly affect the bone in a healing manner. These plants work well together, and can help the healing process greatly. All essences are safe to ingest in small amounts (3-5 drops in an ounce of water is a good start). Use your intuition to guide the way, and remember that less is always more in most cases, and the body knows what's best - so always listen to it!
